To poach an egg

Prepare all the ingredients.

Bring a saucepan of water to a boil with moderation.

Break an egg in a ramekin...

...and pour it delicately into simmering water.

Leave to poach about 3 minutes. Do the same with the other eggs.

Check the cooking of the egg. The yolk must be liquid.

Trim the sides of the poached egg...

...and serve without delay or immediately cool in a bowl filled with cold water if it is for later use.
