Loreztia, founded by Jacques, stands out for his early passion for bees and commitment to sustainable beekeeping and limited production. Initially known in local markets and fairs in the Basque Country, the company gained recognition with its first creation, Apinergie, a natural energy food product awarded by ANVAR.
The expansion of the product range included honey jams, carefully crafted at the Bayonne workshop. The ever-evolving recipes highlight the unique flavors of each fruit, emphasizing reduced sugar options and traditional cooking methods, especially for black cherry.
Loreztia's exceptional quality products have earned the company recommendations in renowned gastronomic and tourist guides, as well as distinctions such as the "Coq d'Or" in 2007 and 2008, along with the Sustainable Development Trophy. Faced with growing demand, a new production unit was established in 2010, expanding the range with fruity sauces showcasing the mild chili of the Basque Country, as well as a variety of local, organic, or original fruit creations, all with a focus on proximity and local production.
Simultaneously, Jacques's partner, Maryse Elissalde, enriched the company by exploring the role of bees in Basque society through a captivating exhibition titled "Man and Bee in the Basque Country Over the Centuries." This initiative led to the creation of the bouti'K expo, an innovative blend of a boutique and exhibition space, offering an experience that is both scientific and playful, particularly for children.
