The chocolate factory was created in 1862 by Eugène Weiss, a young Alsatian confectioner and chocolate maker who came to settle in Saint Etienne.
His passion for transforming cocoa beans into chocolate and dried fruits into delicious pralines quickly boosted the notoriety of the chocolate factory.
To meet the demands of his customers, Eugène Weiss was one of the first chocolate makers to develop mail order sales.
Today, the chocolate factory employs more than 130 people.
The Weiss chocolate factory has been awarded the EPV label (Living Heritage Company) thanks to its desire to preserve the quality of the chocolates produced and its ethical action to use eco-responsible and recyclable packaging.
