Mainly produced in the Chihuahua region in Mexico, chipotle chillies are actually green jalapeños which are dried then smoked with pecan wood.
This particular preparation process is what gives chipotle chilli the perfect balance between hot and smoky flavours, with notes of hazelnut and chocolate.
This chipotle chilli powder will pair well with poultry, pork or beef but also with citrus fruits and chocolate.
